Glenfarclas 12 yr old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 43% abv (Scotland)FEATURED
Bright amber color. The nose is dense with scents of rich fruitcake, caramel, Sherry, roasted walnuts, toffee, and ginger biscuits. The palate echoes the nose delivering waves of decadent fruit, spice, and malt with a generous dose of sweet Sherry. A real gem with much more depth and style than many of its 12-year-old peers. Simply beautiful and hedonistic.
Glenfarclas 17 yr old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 43% abv (Scotland)FEATURED
Deep golden to amber color. Rich and complex aromas of dried apricots, figs, roasted nuts, toffee, and a generous dose of Sherry leap from the glass. The palate is a natural extension of the aromatic profile revealing further dimensions of marzipan, sweet black currants, allspice, and hints of clove. Perfectly proportioned with hedonistic pleasure and style. A near perfect Whisky with incredibly broad appeal causing confirmed Whisky skeptics to swoon. Tremendous!
Glenburgie Duncan Taylor Bottling "Cask #6753" 1968 34 yr old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 45.7% abv (Scotland)
Rich, sweet with soft malt and honey coating every hunk of peat and wood. A massive and chewy texture. Loads of heather and caramel with a soft, lingering finish that summarizes this malts story beautifully. Not the best known distillery on the block but if you seek quality this is your malt.
Glendarroch Lonach Bottling “Cask Strength” 42 yr old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 41.5% abv (Scotland)
Bright copper color. The nose is rich with scents of caramel, roasted nuts, lavender, basil, thyme, and ginger. The palate opens with sweet, dense caramel and toffee notes that are soon overcome by wood and black pepper.
Glendronach 12 yr old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 43% abv (Scotland)
Deep gold to copper color. The nose is wonderfully vibrant and complex with scents of baked apples, heather, orange zest, toffee, and Bourbon casks. The palate echoes the nose delivering lush, semi-sweet malt with roasted nuts, baked orchard fruits, and vanilla. Ideally balanced offering both mature and youthful Whisky flavors. A very charming malt that is in danger of being a session dram... so be careful!
Glendronach “Allardice” 18 yr old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 46% abv (Scotland)
Brilliant amber color. The nose is filled with the scents of roasted nuts and dense fruitcake with accents of orange, brown sugar, molasses, and ginger biscuits. The palate is incredibly lush and full with a dense, sweet, fruit-driven core with complimenting notes of brown spices, caramel, and concentrated liquid malt (wort to you brewers). A hedonistic dessert malt that is a bit of a singular note, especially at this price.
Glendronach “Revival” 15 yr old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 46% abv (Scotland)
Brilliant amber color. The nose is quite rich and dense with scents of baked orchard fruits, caramel, toffee, sweet Sherry, and accents of brown baking spices and brown sugar. The palate concurs with the nose and further flourishes with the addition of a splash of water. Lush with accents of citrus zest and spiced cake and more sweet Sherry. A decadent, multi-layered malt with style and panache.
Glenfarclas 40 yr old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 46% abv (Scotland)
Deep copper to amber color. The nose is rich with Sherry, figs, prunes, and dates with accents of cigar, leather, dark chocolate, candied orange, caramel, and roasted walnuts. The palate echoes the nose offering a delicious explosion of fruit, toffee, brown baking spices, and cocoa. Wonderfully balanced and luxuriously textured showing obvious signs of great maturity without being buried in wood. This great old Whisky improves greatly with 30 minutes in the glass and a drop or two of water. A rare and noble malt.
Glenfarclas “Family Cask” #2639 1962 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 46% abv (Scotland)
Deep, dark mahogany with perfect clarity catching the light with copper edges. The nose is simply incredible offering generous Sherry and caramel notes with loads of dried fruits including dates, peach, apple, and candied orange peel with accents of leather, roasted walnuts, and brown baking spices. The palate is perfectly true to the aromatics expressing its full treasure with a modest splash of water. It's a real charmer whose only imperfection is the firm wood notes on the finish. The ideal gift for a special friend turning 50 this year.
Glenfarclas “Family Cask” #3551 1972 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Scotland); 46% abv (Scotland)
Deep copper color with perfect clarity. The aromatics are quite subtle when first poured but it blossoms and grows in short order revealing waves of candied roasted nuts, caramel, candied orange peel, and orchard fruits with accents of nutmeg, cinnamon, and complex sherry notes with hints of black pepper and clove. The palate echoes the nose being rich while delicate with layers of nuanced fruit and spice flavors. Incredibly balanced with a remarkable vibrancy that defies its age. A beautiful malt with an unexpected delicacy and style. The ideal gift for a special friend turning 40 this year.
